Five-Minute-Friday—Remedy

The Camels Hump, a poem by Rudyard Kipling, first published in The Jungle Book came to mind when I read the word for today. Though in the poem it says,”The cure for this ill…” remedy would fit perfectly. So, I shall let Rudyard Kipling sound my thoughts for today.

There is more truth in this little poem than one may be willing to admit.

  1. Love the poem!

My favourite Kipling verse is a quatrain, No. 27 from “Epitaphs Of The War, 1914-18”

    “Convoy Escort”

I was a shepherd to fools
    Causelessly bold or afraid.
They would not abide by my rules.
Yet they escaped. For I stayed.

  2. Oh yes, how true this is! There is nothing like a cure for the “ills” or “blues” like some good old fashioned work and sweat that makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something! I think every child needs to have this in his reading material 🙂 Blessings to you!
