FMF Writing Prompt—Chance

It is County Fair time here in Virginia!

Always an enjoyable time of year for us. We look forward to both Frederick and Clarke County Fairs.

Competing in events is terrific fun. I will be entering several photographs for a chance of winning a ribbon.

Seeing which photo wins is an interesting surprise. What wins at one fair does not necessarily win at the other. The photos I think may have a chance to win at times does not. Beauty truly lies in the eyes of the beholder. It is a learning experience to study the winners. Some are obvious, others are not.

See you at the fair!

  1. I love all your photos. We enjoy going to the county fairs usually on tractor pull night. We go a couple hours early to see all the animals and exabits and get some junk food – then stay to watch the pulls.

  2. When I put cancer behind me,
    kicking a** and taking names,
it will be time, oh, yes, finally,
for me in the Highland Games.
    There’s a hammer I will throw
to get body back in shape,
    and a caber…yes, I know,
I will look just like an ape
    dressed in a Maclaren kilt
(that is my wife’s homely clan),
and much bitter will be spilt
when I am once again a man
    paying homage to the ancient,
when I am no more a patient.

  3. Here’s to a (blue) ribbon or two in your future! So fun that you are still competing and enjoying the fairs!!:)

    • Well thank you! Yes, I do still have fun with fair entries. Our now grown children won many ribbons years ago. Time to start taking the grandchildren now! ๐Ÿ˜„
